Information Bulletin to all our Patients.
Subject:
Dental Insurance.
What does my Insurance Cover?
With more than 30,000 dental plan contracts in Ontario and each plan
being a little different from the next, the truth is ……
We Don’t Know.
In order to protect client confidentiality, many insurance companies
are reluctant to disclose policy details to our staff. We will
wherever possible try to assist you in understanding your coverage,
but to re-emphasize, we have no relationship or responsibility to
your insurance company.
Who can tell me about my Insurance Coverage?
For detailed information about the specific provisions of your plan
you should consult your policy handbook, speak directly to your plan
administrator or contact the insurance company directly.
Are all Dental Services covered by Insurance…If Not…Why Not?
We make our recommendations to you based on your
needs and not on what your insurance may or may not cover.
At the time of issuing your dental insurance
policy, the insurance company did
not give you an
oral examination to determine what treatments may be needed.
FACT #1:
Dental Insurance is not meant to be a "PAY-ALL", it is only meant to
assist you in
covering the fees for treatment.
FACT #2:
Some plans pay more………some pay less. The amount your plan pays is
determined by the contribution you and your employer make to your
dental plan.
FACT #3:
Our fees are based on the current fee schedule recommended by the
Ontario Dental Association. This may not be the case with the
reimbursements from the insurance companies, resulting in patients
being personally responsible for part of the fees.
FACT #4:
Many routine dental services are
NOT covered by the
insurance carriers. The result is that the patient may be personally
responsible for all or part of the fees.
We would like to thank all our patients for
their continued support and confidence in us.
